Born on the Bayou
The lyrics from Born on the Bayou (1969) by Creedence Clearwater Revival pay a visit with this painting and the other three that belong in this series. The beauty under a swamp promotes much symbolism about what we judge on the surface of people and places. The life under the surface of a murky marsh thrives in its colour and and vibrant action and swaying movement.I wanted to highlight the beauty of a marshy outlet, the tranquility under the clear water where the little fishies eat the kelp and sway with the current.
Again, my common theme of water is depicted here as I work with the fluid to create movement and flow - a different life and a new perspective.
Here, I purposely worked away from the traditional blues I have been working with. Of interest, I used Daniel Smith's Kayanite Genuine granulated gemstone that gives off a natural shimmer. I am absolutely thrilled with the peaceful depth in this painting and I hope you feel its comfort.
