As Long As I Can See the Light
I have just passed through the fourth anniversary of my Daughter's death. Like always, I took the day to myself, to paint, to be open to her spirit, to listen to music, to think and feel freely. On the 22nd of November, you might see me there crying, chuckling to myself and listening to Creedance Clearwater Revival.
My fascination with water, liquid flow and submersion is often represented within my artwork. I believe my obsessive romance with the watercolour medium is at its best when celebrated in my themed ‘Water’ collection.
I have explored the temperament of the liquid releasing the pigment by replicating moments when we are in relationship with rain, the ocean, rivers, lakes, baths and puddles. Interestingly, painting these imagers offer me the same ebb and flow, the liminality and the tranquil perspective that comes with the realities of this element.
