frequently asked questions
what payment options do I offer?
I offer PayPal, Stripe, manual money transfer into a bank account and upon request, other private transfer negotiations.
Cash Payment and a Point of Sale transaction machine is also available from the Pickup Outlet in Bedford.
what is my return policy?
I cannot accept returned paintings due to their original copyright protection. They are human made, therefore, the artwork will have imperfections. 100% client satisfaction cannot be guaranteed. However, lengths have been taken to offer an image online that is close to the original painting as possible, no filters or enhancements have been used.
Refunds are available without explanation, before the painting is sent in the mail.
do I offer prints of my original paintings?
Not at this time. Let me know if you would be interested.
do I do commissions?
I am open to redoing many of the paintings that I have already painted. Just send me a message and let's chat about what you have in mind.
I am very reluctant however, to do commissions as I find they take a very long time and are quite stressful to do. I often paint two to five versions as I can't rest until I get them as close to perfect as I can and I am working with an imperfect medium.
To avoid any hurt feelings or dissatisfaction, I would prefer not to accept commissions, unless I see a picture or get an idea that I really connect with and feel confident I can replicate.
mounted?
Most of my paintings are mounted. That means they have a black core flute backing and a black card mounted frame on the front. They are then covered in plastic to protect them during transit.
unmounted?
If a painting does not have a 'mounted' ribbon, it means it has none of the above and will be rolled and posted in a tube like the below. These paintings come with a displayed discount.
framed?
Some of my paintings have already been framed in preparation for exhibition. The frame will be displayed on the product information page. A ribbon will also alert you to the fact that is a framed product.
australia post?
if you have purchased a painting that is mounted or framed, you will be offered the opportunity to either have it sent to you via our national mailing system.
insured delivery?
In conjunction with the private company Pack and Send, you will be given the opportunity to have your painting carefully packed, insured and sent to you with the utmost safety and guarantee of a quality delivery.

can i pick up my purchase from an outlet?
As you head through the online checkout, an option to pickup your painting/s will be offered to you. The outlet (my studio) is in Bedford, Western Australia.
how do I care for my paintings?
Paintings are created on acid-free 100% cotton with lightfast I & II professional paint. Therefore, with a little care, they will last a lifetime.
-
Paintings can be ironed with a hot iron. Place a cloth on top of the painting first. If the painting creases badly, turn it face down and carefully iron on top of a damp cloth. Thinner paper < 300gsm will need that little bit of extra care.
-
Paintings need to be framed.
-
Archival, acid free framing is recommended.
-
Avoid hanging in bright light or in excessive heat
-
Optional - spray with 2-3 coats of aerosol archival varnish, NOT hairspray as rumoured.
what products do I use?
Paper - In my earlier years of watercolour painting, I used 185gsm fine/rough cold press paper. Now I use the finest international quality, 100# cotton paper by Arches or SaundersWaterford, rough press 300gsm. I sometimes use 850gsm (which is amazing), however, it is expensive to use.
Paint - I use internationally acclaimed Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton, and Schmincke professional watercolour pigments. I sometimes use crayons, chalks and watercolour pencils too. Using with in watecolour is very rare. If I do wat to add white, I use Winsor & Newton Titanium white gouache.
Brushes - I use many types, but my all time favourites, are the famous Winsor & Newton Series 7 sable brushes and my new Alvaro Castagnet Mops.
do you have any other questions?
Feel free to ask me anything here. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
how do I deliver my paintings?
I roll them in tissue paper and place them in a sturdy cardboard square tube with a guide on how to care for the painting. I submit parcels through Australia Post, which has a full tracking feature and downloadable app. I like to use a flat rate for postage, as the tubes are the same light weight. If there is a custom sized package, I will contact you immediately for confirmation, and will adjust any refunds or additions to the postage price.
why do I gift so many of my paintings?
I have gifted well over 200 of my paintings to strangers, acquaintances and friends. When my 29year old daughter died of melanoma in late 2017, I was overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers, friends and acquaintances. Many people from all walks of life, went out of their way to support Elizabeth and the family, during her illness. This is my way of giving back, by gifting it forward. It also gives me a lot of joy seeing people receive them. You might want to join my instagram or facebook group to see what I gift next. My entire portfolio since 2015 is there.
