After Midnight
The title of this song comes from the song by J.J Cale After Midnight (1970). The next line says, 'We're gonna let it all hang out.'
This painting disobeys the rules as I was more interested in the bands of colour, blue violet, imperial purple, glacier blue and burnt sienna, to give the sense of relaxation and hanging out comfortably.
It has less to do with the realism of a landscape, but the comforting mysticism of night. Notice that most of the white sections are the raw white cotton paper.
